We had a bit of a break yesterday, I think it only hit 95! Nice change. Dlynn, did you get rain? (We didn't.)

We got nearly a half inch at my house, and it was wonderful. It was just very scattered rain around the area, but we are thankful for all that we got. It cooled things down for the afternoon, but not before it it 100. This is our 21st day of triple digits and they are forcasting that until the middle of next week...In the meantime, maybe we will get a shower or two.

21 consecutive days over 100 with more to come. On the bright side, we had 68 consecutive days in 1980 so it could be worse!

Dlynn, I'm anxiously awaiting that cool front too. A high of only 93 projected for Weds, W00T!

Way back, many moons ago....my older cousins taught us "younger" cousins what they called "an indian rain dance". That was around 45 years ago..(Now I'm telling my age).I'm thinking of getting out in my yard and doing the dance..My sister swears it works for her. I can't hold my breath as long as you, Pale. Smurf blue is a nice color though...Course my neighbors would think I was plain nuts...but at this point, I don't give a rip what my neighbors think if it would bring on the rain and cooler temps.

shoot, the forecast has already changed for around these parts...the cold front will not reach us, we will get no rain, we will continue to burn up....

which, at least, is good for the cotton crop....

I hope your cotton looks better than ours. Brown and crunchy with a few white fluffs, and when they try to bring it in, it will start raining and not quit for a month.

17,000 bales at 70 cents a pound, it's not a lot but our cotton farmers are feeling pretty good right now...we don't try to bring it in for another couple of weeks, probably just as a hurricane hits...

BSA, your post and location reminds me of a few years ago when my son and i went on vacation to Portland, Maine, like i'd been wanting to do for many years. Flew out of Dallas in mid-June or so where of course it was about 100 degrees.....landed in Portland wearing shorts and a t-shirt...stepped off the plane....to a temperature of 54 degrees. smile Of course, it did warm up after that (to beautiful.....about 80 degrees during the day).

It was so humid here this morning that there was condensation on the windows AND any volume I had in my hair was lost the second I stepped outside!

Really enjoyed my too short visit to Portland....very cool city and cool area (both in climate and general coolness). Was too short though and didn't have a big plan for it, so we mainly just hung out right there in Portland eating great seafood and watching the Sea Dogs play. Oh...and did make it for an afternoon of harness racing at Scarborough Downs.

it can't decide here if it wants us to drown or burn! State fair just ended, and 2 of the grandstand acts got rained out with massive thunderstorms- all the other days it was so hot there were heat advisories.

HERE! I'm here!
And a high of 77 here. Perfect, gloomy, rainy weather. I love it.
