Nope, we were out of town doing the Christmas thing with my husband's family. Haven't gotten to see much of any bowl games either. Just bits and pieces here and there. Saw a couple of great endings though! Did Q show up good again??
He played very well considering there was absolutely NO passing offense....Plummer sat, Rod Smith sat, Shannon Sharpe sat....the announcers spent the majority of the game comparing him to Barry!
Kool! Glad he's getting some playing time so they can see what he can do.
Well, think I'll head home and get ready to watch the Huskers play. As much as I hate to, guess I'll yell for them - but only because they are a Big 12 team and we need to have a good showing in the bowls.
Hey Lil Bit...I'm just leaving now....long day. Gotta sleep. Gotta rest. Gotta watch Nebraska lose to Michigan State!! I didn't even get to order a drink from Mr. C or even run out a rack at the pool table today. Work, work, work, work, work!! Have a good night!
Hey Mr. C Wassup????? I'll pass on the sandwich and would like a big plate of those fries though, they sound great. Could use a Coors Light draft to go with those fries too. Looking forward to the big party, what time tomorrow?
I'm also going to the store tonight so will whip up a big kettle of "Good Luck Soup" for New Year's Day. Figured there might be a few who linger in those comfy chairs and never make it home. They might need a little nourishment and "Good Luck" for the coming year!
Jeremy- I'm afraid your comments about baseball in another thread will require a punishment before being served again in this fine house of baseball (sheesh man you'd think you'd look at the post above your's before dogging baseball and iritating your bartender ). CubDave is currently preparing you a baseball diamond out on the dance floor which you will need to run around three times singing "Take me out to the ballgame" and safetly slide in to all the bases without being called out by our house umpire, Tiny. If you fail in your task....no brew for you. Sorry dude, house rules!!
Pam- your beer is coming right up....feel free to hit Jeremy upside his head as he passes by....

I thought CubDave and his chair went across the street until the "show" was over tomorrow? He wanted no part of the loin cloth scene! Thanks for the beer though, it's nice and cold!
Quote: Mr. C continues to wipe down glasses from behind the bar......
Anybody need some light refreshment for lunch today? Our sandwich special is a grilled ruben with sweet potato fries......
I can't believe it! That is actually one of my hubbys best dinner menus! He is a great cook, and LOVES to cook, which I, in turn Love! And here I thought he invented sweet potato fries.... I can't join you for lunch today though (save me a plate for dinner please). My mother turns 83 today and we are taking her to lunch at her favorite diner. (I still can't get over the Reubens and S.P. fries............... Mr. C., you rock!

Jeremy- If you think your ears can stand it, I'll be glad to sing for you guys. I will however, have to be very.....um.........what's the word I'm looking for?.................wasted?.........polluted?............ on second thought Jeremy, I don't think Mr. C. and Z have enough alcohol in the joint to get me up to the mike. I'll dance my fool head off, and shoot stick, but no singing for me.

Mr. C I will definitely take up your offer of fries and a beer! As I am nursing my training bruises from this morning (see lending forum) I want one of those big, huge frosty mugs of beer. Oh and can I get a side of ranch with those fries? Yum!

Ah jeremy - and I was just starting to like you. Here is your punishment - aside from running around the bases, you will need to slide at each base, and although my eyes will be shut, you will not be allowed clothing, and all of the sharp peanut shells from yesterday have been swept into the playing field and will be present at each base - may want to rethink the head first slides!
All of this for BASEBALL? Wow. Imagine what would happen if I dogged a real sport!! Have you seen the Nascar commercial about how "tough" baseball is? I don't like Nascar either, if that helps or hurts my cause.
Dave--That's pretty harsh...peanut shells? And to think, I'm a head-first slider. Now slow pitch softball....THERE'S A GAME. My church softball team won the state tournament last year!! Am I absolved? I did watch a couple innings of the Cubs game 7 (and cried). Not because I like the Cubs, but because I really wanted a change this season and the Cubs v. the Red Sox would have been really cool, from an historical standpoint.
