Quite an opening week....Lions lose on a bizarre call, Dallas has a TD wiped out for a hold, and of course, the Pats make the Bengals look like fools...

Sigh, the Pats didn't make the Bengals look like fools, the Bengals did that all by themselves.

Ugh, I'm still angry about the Lions call... I was the only person in our pick-em pool to choose the Lions over the Bears and I was *this close*! But that's not important... That win would have been HUGE for Detroit fans' morale. Ugh... It's hard enough to be a Lions fan as it is.

I was also the only person to pick the Redskins over the Cowboys!

And the Steelers managed to get a win without Big Ben. It just goes to show he may not be as inddispensable as he thinks.

The Eagles lost after trading McNabb, But McNabb won with the Redskins.

Did anyone hear the horrible announers for the Steeler game? Jim Marrowiddiot was only worried about some rcvr on Atlanta catching his 1000th. Are you kidding me? The entire first half was him bumbling around. It annoys me when I have to listen to idiots.

Yesterday may have been the ONLY time I have/will ever root for the Patriots.

I was at the game with seats near the end zone, and for some reason surrounded by Lions fans. This one guy looked back at me and said, I think he dropped the ball. And just then the whistle blew...

It was funny, strange, not funny ha, ha. These fans and us discussed at length, during the first half, when a similar call went against the Bears and the one guy told me that "you have to have control of the ball when you fall." So when this happened, at the end of the game, we exchanged looks and he uttered an expletive and we laughed. Then we reviewed the play on the super cool Fan Vision over and over and over again. I love Fan Vision!

It was an ugly win, but a win. I will say this, the Lions fans were some of the nicest fans I have ever sat at a Bears game (Packers are the worst - sorry Peepers).

I'm a little bitter. I have Calvin Johnson and Tony Romo in my fantasy football league. Those calls better have not cost me a win.

Hail to the Redskins. (Although even I will admit it wasn't so much the 'Skins actually playing well, more the 'Boys not playing well and then that issue at the end.)

But a win is a win, and a loss is a loss, and when it comes to the Cowboys, I like it when it's a loss

Yes, I'm bitter. I have watched replay after replay. He had possession of the ball, both feet went down, still had possession, had possession when his butt hit the ground, he let of of the ball after he was down. How is that not a touchdown?! LOL

Like a friend of mine wrote on FB, it's not enough to catch the football and get both feet inbounds while maintaining possession. You also need to take the football out to dinner, make love to it, and cuddle with it afterwards.

Amen to that!

Aggs: It may be an odd rule, but even the Detroit coach agreed that the call was correct as the rule is written.

That was such an obvious loss - I don't know of ANYONE who thought we would win. And actually, no matter the score, we didn't play too badly for a very young team with a true freshman QB playing in only his 2 college game.

Although, having watched the game, it wasn't nearly as close as the score would indicate.

Its like the tuck rule. The call was correct for the rule, the rule was awful and was eventually changed.

Nothing wrong with that rule...
