Oh, I know. I don't blame the refs. It's just such a STUPID RULE, I couldn't wrap my brain around it. wink You have people who touch the air in the end zone with the tip of the ball while their bodies are down on the field and it's a TD. This guy comes down with the ball with two feet down and it's not?! Garbage, I say! laugh ::shakes fist::

Plus, it pains me to see the Bears win like that. Gawd, I despise that team, even more now that giant baby aka Jay Cutler is their QB.

Yes, I'm bitter. I have watched replay after replay. He had possession of the ball, both feet went down, still had possession, had possession when his butt hit the ground, he let of of the ball after he was down. How is that not a touchdown?! LOL

Like a friend of mine wrote on FB, it's not enough to catch the football and get both feet inbounds while maintaining possession. You also need to take the football out to dinner, make love to it, and cuddle with it afterwards. laugh

have to complete the process....

sorry - to fully respond yes, if that catch was made by a Saint then yes it would have been a touchdown because they would have completed the process because they are generally better athletes(superbowl champs) grin

let's face it, many rules in American football are stupid...

the nose of the ball crosses the goalline - touchdown

the nose of the ball goes out over the sideline - ball in play

a punt is measured from the line of scrimmage

a field goal is measured from where the kick is taken

when a player is injured in the last 2 minutes and needs assistance, that team is penalized a timeout, even if the other team has already called timeout

you only have to hit the end zone marker to be considered scoring, but hitting the 1st down marker doesn't give you a first down

if you take a 3 step drop and then throw the ball toward the ground to avaoid a sack and no receiver is in the area, you are penalized for intentional grounding. if you take a 3 step drop and in order to avoid getting sacked throw the ball 60 yards down field, nothing happens

there are many others, which explains while American football is vastly inferior to real football!

it is kind of a dumb rule, I think it should be changed for endzone catches

like it was pointed out, once a player breaks the plane of the goal it's a touchdown and the play is over

there is no man on football sex required at that point

"once a player breaks the plane of the goal it's a touchdown and the play is over"

That's a different issue - whether a player with possession of the ball reached the end zone. In this case, there was no doubt that the player was in the end zone, the question was whether he maintained possession of the ball.

and did we really need a running commentary during the game about the investigation that is taking place? I know the game was boring, but mention it once and move on...

Hottest sports announcer in mexico? hey, send her back, issue resolved...

tell your boss to lower her head and swipe it side to side...that will likely collect her and several thousand others...then shake it out while facing south and put them back home

That made me laugh out loud! Good thing I wasn't drinking when I read this one. I would have had to call IT for a new keyboard laugh

I'm not sure what was worse, watching my Chargers stink it up against an inferior team on opening night or the fact that the drunkest, most obnoxious Charger fan in the sports bar wanted to commiserate with me non-stop. In the words of Jackie Chiles: "This is the most public yet of my many humiliations."

It was kind of fun last night watching the Jets play flag football. Nice to see Rex Ryan with his mouth closed for once.

I was the happiest non-Saints fan last February - I'll always have a soft spot for Brees. That was really tough when the Chargers had to choose between Brees and Rivers...of course it was easier when they foolishly left Brees in for a meaningless game where his shoulder got shredded. I really wanted both of them to succeed and while we don't have a Super Bowl no one in San Diego is complaining about Rivers. So enjoy Brees, Happy!

Go Broncos! frown
Go Vikings! frown
Go Cowboys! (for my fiance) frown

Okay, so I didn't fare too well with my favorite teams in week 1, but I am an optimist, so I will instead dwell on my 3 college teams all winning (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State (for my fiance) and Iowa) and all 3 of my FANTASY FOOTBALL teams winning!!

Fantasy football is where it's at anyway. Where else can you cheer for Austin Miles to catch a long Tony Romo TD pass while cheering for Washington to beat Dallas. I love the "Reality of Fantasy" commercials. smile
