Are y'all excited because getting a new sign is like Christmas in Sept, or this will be one less PITA to deal with and finally you get to check something as "done?" smile

Hey, when you're constantly dealing with bad news and more regulation, you must cherish the small things - like free new FDIC signs. grin

Got mine today. What I don't understand is, the stickers they sent me worked great right over the old signs. Why go to the expense of totally brand new signs when the stickers were fine? Just another waste of our taxpaying dollars.

Free FDIC signs? I don't deal in ordering them but I did notice we received new signage today and overheard a comment about the hight cost of them. Where do banks get them for free?

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
they are free when ordered from the FDIC. Other vendors sell them and they started the hard sell right after the ruling.

Visit the following web page and scroll down to teller stickers or teller signs as applicable.

Regarding the release and letter from yesterday about the new unlimited noninterest-bearing account coverage (Dec. 31, 2010-Dec. 31, 2012)? It says that we need to post a notice in the main office, each branch, and on the website by the end of the year. I didn't know if anyone knew if we were to create our own signs or if they would provide something?

The release you refer to is a proposed rule which will have a short comment period. When the final rule is released, you will have to create your own sign based on the model wording in the rule. I'm sure there will be vendors out there that will offer such signs. For the TAGP, we created a Word document and placed it in a clear plexi-glass signholder.

OK, thank you. So I will wait until the final rule is released. We didn't participate in TAGP so we just had a small notice stating that. Do you think it will be required to be by every every place deposits are accepted (like the FDIC sign) or just one per branch?

In the proposal, it says one in each main office and branch lobby, posted prominently, and on your web site. I imagine that's the way it will end up in the final rule.

This sort of notice begs for in-house creation rather than depending on (and paying) a third party.
