Thank God there are enough good people left to keep us civilized and human.

Is it possible to keep this thread going? It's the best "news" I've read in a very long time!

Its been only 11 days since the last post. What, do you think good news in the banking industry grows on trees?

Not sure if this qualifies as good news but I thought it was sweet.
I was eating lunch with my hubby yesterday and an older gentleman came over patted my husband on his back, thanked him for his service (hubby was in uniform), and then paid for our lunch. We tried to refuse but he insisted.

My husband and I were having lunch at Chick Fil A several months ago. After we ate he went back up to the counter, paid for something and then came back to the table. I asked him what he had done. He had paid for 4 chocolate milkshakes for the servicemen seated in the back of the restaurant and then we left before they were delivered.

People used to do that for my husband all the time, at least thanking him when he was in uniform, don't know that anyone ever bought him lunch, but he said his response was always, "Thank you for showing us what we're fighting for" He said that there are so many negative people it was always nice to have someone say thank you, whether it was for his choice of career, or for passing the salt, it's always nice to hear the words.

I agree Munque it is nice to hear regardless. He gets thanked a lot when out in uniform. The lunch was a first for me but he said people have done it before. He does not like accepting but most don't take no for an answer. Like he says "I am just doing my job".
