We have been presented with a flood insurance policy for evaluation that is a “Natural Catastrophe Insurance” policy underwritten by Lloyds of London. A good amount of information is available at Catcoverage.com where they say these policies meet NFIP requirements for private flood insurance.
I've never heard of catastrophe insurance and wondered if anyone else familiar with this.
I have seen catastrophe coverage (usually at high end loans) - it is multi-peril. It "could" meet requirements but you must compare to NFIP requirements to determine a specific policy eligibility for flood.
