Agreed that we played really well Saturday.....I don't think OU is in the proverbial driver's seat just yet though.....I don't want to have to sweat it out if Oregon, Auburn and OU all go undefeated. (I guess LSU too for that matter, i just can't see LSU going undefeated.) I don't think we have to worry about Boise, TCU, or Michigan State hopping over us, but it's not a done deal as long as the Pac 10 and SEC have unbeatens.

The computers love OU, so that's the reason for the discrepancy between the human polls and the BCS. For the record, i don't really have a problem with OU's poll ranking right now. If we continue to win and beat an unbeaten Mizzou, a maybe unbeaten OSU, and perhaps a one-loss Nebraska (or Missouri again), i think the logical progression past Boise State is a given.

LSU plays Auburn this week i believe...

As much as i don't want to, i think i'll be rooting for LSU in that one. I don't think LSU can beat Alabama....i think Auburn can.

LSU has alabama and arkansas still to face, auburn just has alabama.

Auburn is gonna have so much sentiment from 2004 that i think there will be an overwhelming groundswell for them if they go undefeated. (And they're a very good team.) Bottom line to me: if OU, Oregon, and Auburn (or LSU) all go unbeaten, then a deserving team is gonna be left out of the title game.

I think we can take Auburn. They haven't met our defense yet.

and I have to ask...was there any defense on the field at ALL during the Auburn-Arkansas game? What kind of score is 65-43?

Coaches only get fired from Alabama for 2 reasons:
1. losing to Auburn
2. stealing from the school

Depends on who was watching from what side. Very disapointed in the Buckeyes. Wisconsin BEAT the snout out of OSU with OSU's own old style. "Hey, we are going to run it, try and stop us."

OSU doesn't have a powerful running back any more. Oh, their are a couple young studs, but they didn't see the field. And the lack of defense was just pathetic. OSU needs another wide body on th eline and some good old fashion smach mouth linebackers. AJ Hawk and company were the last good LBs we have had.

The ones we have now are better suited for saftey.

Tressel was pretty horse in the press conference, I hope it was from yelling. After practice this week i hope his feet are sore from kicking some you know what in practice.

Not sure how I feel about OU's ranking, but:

Air Force was undefeated until this week's loss,
Florida State is doing well
They beat Texas, who beat Nebraska

I guess it all adds up when that is taken into account. It will be an interesting year. Mrs (to be) Pup is an Oklahoma State fan, so she announced that we will be going to that game in Stillwater this year, assuming that if OU is on the cusp, Gameday will be there (making it a night game), as they were 2 years ago.

This is one crazy year in the BCS so far.

The dynasties may be a thing of the past.

Too few scholarships allowed, too many open enrollment public universities, too many choices for the real student athletes.

The BCS rankings continue to prove one thing: the need for a playoff system for college football.
