Offering a consumer checking account. We want to use free for the first year in the ad. Small print clarifies that account is "free" of monthly main. fee. However, we do charge a $1.00 fee if customers want to receive a statement with images in the mail (rather than online, for example). So, can we use "free" in this case???

When a customer opens the account, are the default settings that they will get a paper statement and they need to sign up for estatements? e.g., What statement method is the default setting?

I wouldn't be happy if I signed up for FREE and learned I had to pay any money. Too sneaky for me.
