I heard this today while in my office. The conversation was taking place just outside, but I didn't hear/pay attention to anything except this question:

"WHAT KIND OF WOMAN WOULD WANT TO GET MARRIED DURING DEER SEASON?"

The odd part was that it was a woman making the comment!

Maybe they were contemplating an outdoor wedding? I can just picture the bridal gown in bright orange!

Maybe it would interfere with the honeymoon!

This one wouldn't...If I did, I might miss some action! (Oops..that could go more than one way...I meant hunting action! hehehe) How DO you fit these things in between hunting seasons, fishing, horses are an all year long venture...geez...guess there's not a really GOOD time!

I was married on December 28, 1992. This has worked out really well for me. I have received lots of jewelry, flowers, furniture, etc. to ease my husband's guilty concience when he is duck/goose hunting on our anniversary! I'm not really that sentimental anyway so I don't mind that he is hunting. But I wouldn't dare let him know that!

That is good! Seriously, in Minnesota opening of Walleye is off limits unless you want a very few people in attendence. In Iowa, avoid opening of pheasant season.

In Oklahoma, a Saturday afternoon wedding is not a good idea during football season....the same would probably go for Sundays in....say....Green Bay!

I am a farmer's daughter. Our wedding couldn't be in April, June, July, August, or September because of crop seeding and harvesting. I got married in northeast Montana so it also couldn't be in November through March, due to the weather. I had only May and October so I chose Memorial Day weekend. Like Minnesota, a lot of people were upset because the walleye are biting then and we screwed up their fishing weekends. This was before we became avid fishermen.

Do you know the way to ...
My brother's getting married in late April. He joked that it was "after hockey season" so I wouldn't have to miss any games. I replied, "So you don't think the Sharks will get to the playoffs this year, again?"
