I heard that Gary Larsen has his complete Far Side works published in a 2 volume set. I understand that it's going for around $100. Has anyone seen it yet?

I got the books for Christmas and have not stopped reading or laughing. There are 2 books that weigh almost a ton, with it seems like everyone of his cartoons. They are for every Far Side fan!

I found it on Barnes and Noble, but decided not to pay the price.

Question... Anyone know why Larson stopped doing/creating the Far Side?

I really liked it.

I think he mentioned that he just got burned-out.

My favorite was the kid pushing on the door to get into "Melville School for the Gifted" when the sign said "Pull"

My favorite is the classroom where the boy has his hand raised and says 'Mr. Osborne may I be excused - my brain is full'. That's my husband's (and my) last name and he was my teacher when I met him.

I remember sitting in studyhall in 9th grade and reading a farside book, the only one I can remember is a picture of two cowboy's standing in the "part" of a head of hair. One is saying to the other "you new in this here part".

I still laugh when I think of that one!

If you Larson fans have not already done so, get your hands on The Prehistory of the Far Side. It gives a great look into the mind of Gary Larson and the evolution of the Far Side (including the cartoons that were shot down by editors!)

I've got that and loved it!
