Would you be so kind as to let me know if your institution still has a "Wire Room", that is, a secured, separate room in which the wire personnel resides or if the wires are processed by individuals within the general Operations staff?

Voted 'other'...wires done through Fedline Advantage are done in a physically separate and secure 'wire room' [which are done by personnel in operations who use this secure room only for the transmittal of FA wires) and wires done through other vendors (correspondent bank) are done by personnel in operations.

I also voted 'Other'; we have three individuals who are authorized to originate on FedWire using their individual iKeys; three other individuals are authorized to verify. FedWire can be accessed from any terminal equipped with the iKey port.

Other. We have a wire office - it's a glass box more or less behind the teller line that can be locked, but the folks in the wire office have lots of other tasks and we have about 5 other Fedline advantage users/terminals that aren't in the wire office that can originate and verify.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
the need for a serperately enclosed wire room disappeared as DOS-based Fedline became Fedline Advantage/Direct controlled by digital certificates and USB device loaded keys.

I'm bumping this up because I think a lot of people were out last week and I'd like to get more responses/votes from those who may have missed this. Thanks!

Other. We have a FED office - but there are others in the bank who have access to Fedline advantage users/terminals that can originate and verify. There is even another user/terminal at another branch of ours.

We utilize FedLine Advantage and authorized users are not in a locked room. We used to have a locked room, but did away with it when tokens were issued with FedLine.

We have a separate locked wire room with wire staff (holdover from fed-dos). They are the only ones that can initiate wires on the fedline. Other staff has access to fedline for adjustments, ach, etc.. The wire staff only does wires (as they repeatedly state they are "too busy" when asked to do other duties) LOL
