I find that it is even easier to read if you turn the Kindle sideways when you increase the font to this. And yes, I have tried it.

Oh! It's good to know you can landscape it...that would be better, I think! Regardless of font size.

OK, now I have to play with mine and figure out how to do landscape. ETA: I don't see it.

I've had my original Kindle (K1) for 2 1/2 years and still love it. I do get a twinge occasionally for a newer one but won't as long as she's still working. I've bought one battery for her and a couple of awesome covers (Oberon) and the Mighty Brite light, which is the best, to me.
I find reading on it much easier. I find that my hands don't get as tired as when I was constantly hold a book, something about the way I would use my thumb to hold the book open.
So many books at your fingertip
So easy to finish one book and "grab" another.
Family is happy since I always love getting Amazon gift cards.
I've discovered some new authors thru the freebies available on Amazon.
Traveling is so much easier with not have to tote multiple books.
I live miles and miles from the nearest town so getting a book is so much more convenient now, even though I'm not in the Whispernet and have to download via computer, which is a breeze. Even for technically challenged me!
I loving "cleaning" my library, meaning just delete them from my K1 knowing Amazon is storing them for me anytime I want to re-read it.
For some reason, I don't get motion sickness reading my K1 while my husband is driving and I always did with a paper book. I agree with all of these. I love it and I do not miss paper books at all.

just passing along a tip from a friend:
Go to dailycheapreads.com for a quick, concise list and some reviews on Kindle books $5 and under. They even have links to Amazon so you can buy them right then.

I have had a Kindle since they first came out and can't imagine being without it. I still read/buy paper books sometimes, but most everything is "Kindle-ized". It has really helped with storage. And I love always having a book with me.

OK, press the font button AA You can then change the Size, Typeface, Line Spacing, Words per line and Screen Rotation.
Happy Reading!

That's the one my brother got for Christmas, JayJ. He's making me crazy about it though, because his is the newer version and can do stuff that mine can't. Therefore he is better than I at everything. We're teenagers. Apparently.

Aren't there 3 tiers of Kindle offered by Amazon?

I bought one for my sister for Christmas and loved it so much I bought one for myself. I can't wait to get it. The website at Amazon says that next year the book sharing feature will be available with a 14 day limit just like the Nook. So that issue goes away.

Just a short drive from Lake E...

I bought one for my wife for Christmas. She reads in the car a lot, and wants to use the Kindle when we ride the Harley. It will have to warm up a little before we try that out... but it will be easier on me if she's reading and not sleeping.

I have the nook color and love it. Barnes & Noble has both of their nook devices on display and they allow you to come in and test them out. That was the big downside for me on the Kindle, there isn't anywhere to try it out first before buying.

Actually, I think that Target and Best Buy both carry the Kindle in stores.
