Did that once, BF. Started to boil some eggs and then forgot and went out and mowed the yard. I actually had to scrape some of the eggs off of the ceiling - and the smell was horrendous.

On Christmas Day we were at my sister's house and she was making baked potatoes. She didn't puncture the potatoes before she put them in the oven. Never knew that an exploding potato could be so loud!

pjs, every year as kids we used to sneak one fresh egg in to the mix of colored eggs and giggle when mom or dad cracked it to eat it. They knew, and always tried to figure out which egg it was. I think that by the time my sister was old enough to really understand what us boys were doing to mom, she knew exactly which egg it was. Now that would have been fun.

A helpful trick to find out if an egg is hard boiled or not.... spin it sideways on the counter. A raw egg will wobble all over the place while a cooked egg will spin in place. My Dad the farmer taught me that one! He also says fresh eggs float while old ones sink, at least I think that is the way it goes....

Sea Salt Cumin Basil Italian Spices Oregano Garlic
I hate the smell of Rosemary. I tried growing it in my garden and found the smell to be overpowering.
I recently found out that sea salt really affects my cucumber salad weirdly. It's happened more than once now so I think it is the salt and not the cucumbers. I think I'll have to go back to regular salt for that dish.
I do like to make my own Taco Seasoning, a recipe I got from allrecipes.com. I usually quadruple the recipe and keep it in my spice cabinet. That is the best stuff and so much better than pre-packaged taco seasoning. Plus you can tweak it around to suit the taste of your family:
Ingredients: 1 tablespoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon black pepper

Cool! I might try that recipe, though I'll probably never run out of the costco size jug of taco seasoning the bf bought I LOVE allrecipes.com That's how I;ve started cooking more and cooler stuff.

We can't use packaged taco seasoning because it gives the hubby heartburn (most prepared seasonings do, isn't that strange?) and that sounds very similar to the list of stuff that I throw together. I've never had an actual recipe for it though, so I may do your trick, Okie, and mix up a jar of this to keep on the shelf. Thanks!

I also send thanks!
RRBecca, I wonder if there are some type of preservatives in it, or the stuff that keeps it from sticking together that doesn't suit him?
