One of senior managers received this information and is wanting us to start checking our database against this list. Does anyone else do this? Any reason to justify doing it?
USPIS "Hot Address" Distribution
The United States Postal Inspection Services (USPIS) has released its "Hot Address List" for the month of November 2010. This list is compiled and distributed each month by the USPIS and contains addresses identified during Inspection Service investigations as having been used to facilitate fraudulent application, account takeovers, and merchandise fraud schemes. The list also includes complaints from the USPIS's Financial Crimes Database (FCD Complaint) and notes on whether the address was used for fraudulent change-of-address or a fraudulent application. Contact Terry Jennings-Corcoran, Program Specialist, USPIS Mail Theft & Violent Crimes Group, TMCorcoran@uspis.gov, for information or to request to be added to the distribution list.
