Pulling people out of the ditc...
Guess this makes ESPN look silly for reporting last night that Miles had told the ESPN reporter confidentially" that he was going to Michigan...

Quote:
Les Miles has decided to remain as LSU’s head football coach, according to school officials. Joe Alleva, LSU athletic director, posted a statement on the LSU Sports website, saying that Miles told him this morning he would return for a seventh season coaching the Tigers. "Les has led this program to many great successes on the field and his players represent LSU well off the field," Alleva says. "We look forward to many great years of LSU football under his leadership." Miles is set to hold a press conference after he returns from Dallas, where he is speaking today at the convention of the American Football Coaches Association. Earlier today, Jordy Hultberg, a reporter with the LSU Sports Radio Network, issued a report that Miles would return. Miles met with Michigan Athletic Director Dave Brandon on Monday night in Baton Rouge regarding the Wolverines’ coaching vacancy. Miles then met with LSU officials.

As much as I have enjoyed The OSU beating that school up north for these last 7 years (it has been 2,608 days since Michigan's last victory over OSU - thank you Columbus Dispatch for your daily counter), I would like to see UM's football program come back and give some relevance to the rivalry. Don't count Hoke out yet, Tressel came from lowly Youngstown State and has done quite well. Even the great Bo Schembechler wasn't a "Michigan" man, he came from Miami of Ohio, where he had succeeded his mentor and friend (yes friend) Woody Hayes.

Oh, I am not discounting mr hoke one bit. From what i have seen, I think he will restore pride to the team up north, and restore value to the rivalry. (I do remember the cooper years 1-11-1 cry ) When the team up north didn't value the rivalry much either.

Maybe with meaning restored to the game, our players will value the "Golden Pants" they get for beating that team upnorth and not trade them for tatoos.

Looks like he is getting started on making thing tougher up north.

Michigan names Mattison def. coordinator (AP)

Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Greg Mattison is leaving to fill the same role on Brady Hoke's new staff at Michigan. Mattison was also the defensive coordinator for the Wolverines during the 1995 and 1996 seasons. "Greg loves Michigan, loves recruiting and is excited about coming back to Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan," Hoke said in a statement.

Yikes!! I don't know that he'll be able to turn things around next season, but after he starts getting his recruits in there watch out.

That's a good hire for Michigan. That should get the fan base excited.

oh, i thought you fell off the Michigan bandwagon and hitched up to the A&M bandwagon. I guess with their trouncing at the hands of the evil SEC team in the Cotton Bowl, you flopped back to Michigan again. My bad...

The University of Michigan was founded in 1817 as one of the first public universities in the nation. It was first established on 1,920 acres of land ceded by the Chippewa, Ottawa, and Potawatomi people...
