Well, I like the show this year a million times better than last year already.

I echo your comments, Becca, and think Steven Tyler seems constructive and fair (and quite funny) and J-lo seems nice so far.

Also, I would like to have J-lo's hair. I mean, her weave. smile

I like that the show seems to have it's sense of humor back, and I like that ST and JL seem to make Randy a better judge so far. He has always been the most irritating part of the show for me, and he seems to be stepping up his game.

Personally, I like seeing the good people at auditions. Most of the trainwrecks are obviously fake, anyways, and irritating to watch when there's too many.

Tyler was better last night over the first night, but the show is missing Simon's ability to just plain tell it like it is and be an authority on the subject with a success rate that makes even his harshest barbs have some merit.

Talk to Doc Brown about borrowing his Delorean so you can go shopping in the 70s.

I would if his clothes looked anything like clothes from the 70's.

I kind of had the same reaction. I said to my wife, "What's up with that guy? Some of these girls are almost young enough to be his granddaughter."

I like that they finally added internet voting. I don't like that they haven't limited the number of times some teenage girl can vote for a cute boy who can't sing his way out of a paper bag.

I liked the guy who sang hard rock. I liked a couple of the others, but mainly, I was underwhelmed.

Meh.

The tall skinny guy with the fauxhawk who sings rock is OK, though a little screamy. Casey (beard guy) is good. Overall, I agree with BF - underwhelming. I doubt I'll be watching much - nevermind voting.

ETA: they could easily axe about 5 of them from last night and get down to some decent competition right off the bat.

Don't know all the names yet, but I liked:

James - the hard rock guy
??? - the guy who sang "Maggie"
??? - the guy who sang the Luther Vandross song
Casey - the last guy
??? - the country singing kid

Some just had bad song choices!

I really don't care for that Jordan dude. He seems to have the attitude that he is better than all the others.

Jordan and the guy who looks like Carrot Top Jr are my first picks to get the boot.

Becca, from my understanding, they will be cutting 6 of them by the end of the week. Votes will put through 5, and then the judges have a wildcard pick. They are not stretching it out like they've done in the past.

Thank goodness. That explains why some of these people got through, then - they needed some easy, fast exits.

I actually voted for the first time in years via text.

I voted for:

Scotty
Paul
Jacob
Casey

Based on last night's performance, I'd say Jacob was the best.

I love Scotty's deep voice and his twang. I want to hear him sing a Randy Travis song. I like Jacob and Casey also. I thought I liked the guy who sang Maggie May, but I didn't like his performance last night.

Jacob is the black guy with the incredible voice who sang near the end last night. I think Paul is the one who sang Maggie May.

I agree, Go Lions.

Did anyone watch the girls? I think most of them picked the wrong songs. I did like the last 2 - Pia and Thia.

I'm starting a new thread for this year - this old one takes too long to load.

The girls were horrible. They should just pick ten of the guys.
