We leave for Florida on Saturday morning (driving) and staying in a hotel at Port Canaveral overnight. Then we board the cruise ship on Sunday and we're off to the Bahamas!

I can't wait!

5 days of no cell phones, no internet, nobody calling me to ask another question about Reg E claims, no advertising reviews, no worrying about what to make for dinner... I could go on.

It's just me, hubby and our 5 year old. I'm getting so excited!

I am on a cruise next week too. We fly to Galveston early on Sunday. Western Caribbean destinations (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica)!!

I hope you have a great time. Most cruise lines have excellent kid programs. You might not even see your 5-year old except for meals.
(which could make the vacation even better....)

I've never had any motion sickness or sea sickness, but I've never been on a cruise while pregnant, so that might be interesting.

I want to take her to Camp Carnival (I've heard they're so much fun) but the hubby is, at this time, against the idea of leaving his baby with strangers on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Because, you know, they will make sure to throw her overboard the moment we leave her there. I'm sure he'll change his mind once we're there and he sees the set up of the kid area. I hope...



Yay! Have fun! We're going to Freeport and Nassau. We did a cruise before where we stopped in Grand Cayman and then Ocho Rios, Jamaica. You must snorkle with stingrays in Grand Cayman - it was one of the best experiences of my life!

You know what is shocking - I actually suggested to my husband that we invite his mom to come along. She lives by herself and is kind of poor and I thought it would be nice to invite her (and pay) since she can never do things like this. However, he said that she wouldn't be able to get the time off work (and she can't afford to get fired) and so it's just the three of us.

Amazing, isn't it? I don't like the woman, but I still feel bad that she's all alone and living 12 hours away from us. I was willing to spend my ONE vacation this year with her just to make someone else happy. Shocking.

Aggs - about escaping the regs, a true story:

One of my colleagues was thrilled to get away on her first cruise. At work, she supervised all of the Reg. C activity, ensuring that all of the data was properly gathered and recorded, properly classified and compiled and sent off on a timely basis.

She and her now-husband were seated at the dinner table and looked forward to a gourmet meal. The waiter arrived and introduced himself:

"Welcome! My name is Humda and I will be your waiter this evening...."

Did she promptly as for a new table/waiter?

If you are, then why don't you take her in and let her live with you since she's "poor" and unable to get off from work. She *is* family, and I thought I saw where you commented to that one poster about inviting her MIL over for Christmas and that she was selfish for wanting one Christmas alone.

Maybe I am wrong about that last one, but that is what I thought I saw you write. Forgive me and disregard if I am wrong.

When did this get posted to BOL? I rememebr hearing she was goign to start trying and I saw somethign on FB that made me wonder, btu I never saw it announced. Geez, I'm not THAT far buried in craigslist. Actually, I'm a little sad today...I have nothgin to search for. Any ideas?
