If a business customer drops off a deposit in the middle of the day and doesn't wait for it to be worked - are you handling it like a night deposit - record it in a log, verified by two people? Also, does your night deposit record document cash and total deposit or just total deposit? Thanks for your input!

Yes, our bank handles "intra day deposits" similar to night drop - recording it on a log (one customer per log for information security purposes), opened and processed under dual control, and procedures for handling discrepancies between the deposit ticket and the actual deposit counted by the branch staff. Our Night Drop Log records both cash and total deposit.

You are here
Pror bank handled it exactly as a night drop down to the agreements and logs. Logs had a comment field where "day drop" was indicated.

New bank does not have the volume/clientele for customers to drop.
