Wisconsin teachers march on Capital and throw us into the national spotlight. Honestly, I don't get it. They've been asked to live up to the contract the union signed whereby they'd contribute 50% to their retirement plan. They've been told health care will cost them 11% more. They're not loosing the right to bargain for salary. Seriously, don't they understand the State doesn't have the money to pay them? It's this or lay offs.
Oh, and then the Mayor of Madison calls a special session tonight to sign union contracts raising pay. Is he nuts? Where's he going to get the money? Thank goodness I don't live in the City of Madison. They don't call it MadTown for nuthin'.
