I understand that the disclosures, notices/statements and change of terms should have consistent teminology, but what about advertising - printed, radio and website?

Can someone please offer some guidance on this.....

I'm reviewing our website and noted we refer to our products differently on varying disclosures/advertisements...

For example we have a Regular Checking account that we call Regular Checking on the TIS, fee schedule and statement...so disclosure wise we are ok.....however, on our website and ad brochures, we refer to this as Budget Checking...

I of course am recommending that we use the same terminology across the board but would like to know if this is truly a Reg DD "consistent terminology" violation....

What you call the account isn't a disclosure that's required by the regulation, so consistency is not required. That said, I agree with your recommendation for the same terminology. How else can your customer-facing staff or marketing department communicate effectively with customers about this checking account?
