Someone please tell me if I am correct on when to collect the GMI: (We are as of 2004 a HMDA reporting bank)
(1) When Purchasing a dwelling & secured by a dwelling
(2) When refinancing a dwelling (old loan secured by dwelling & new loan also secured by a dwelling)
(3) For Home Improvement Loans (we only classify HI if dwelling secured)
(4) For Construction/Perm dwelling secured loans
The GMI that must be collected is Ethnicity, Race, & Sex
of both the applicant & co-applicant.
If the loan is to purchase or refinance the purchase of a principal dwelling, we must collect the age and marital status also along with the above information.
Is all this correct or am I way off base?
