Thanks guys. It's a roller coaster for sure. Got good news on the dog this morning <liver and pancreas enzymes are back to normal>; however he's not absorbing protein properly. They're going to continue to work with that and take it one day at a time.

Hoping that you only get good news on your baby (furry one) from here on and that hubby is doing okay as well. Roller coasters are hard on you - hang in there and know that good thoughts and prayers are coming from your friends on BOL.

Is your husband's face huge because you decked him? That wasn't very nice smile

On a serious note, you're still in my prayers, and I hope it goes back to good news. But at least it sounded like you were somewhat prepared if your pet did not get to come home.

Gabe's bloodwork is back to normal; however he still is having diarrhea. They're gong to start yet another drug today and try feeding him. Poor little guy has barely eaten because they want to prevent any more intestinal irritation. He's starving. They are also giving him probiotics now, too.

Hopefully we can visit him tomorrow. He's been in there a week and probably thinks he's been abandoned, but the vet said the ladies are giving him a lot of attention and think he's just the sweetest thing. Well, he is.

Great to hear this, but don't worry, I will withhold my excitement to avoid a return to the vet smile

hey duchess - hope your hubby and your furry friend are doing well. lots of stress for you. take care of yourself too. i'm sure you'll rest easier with your furry friend at home.

i can't imagine leaving my whippet at the vet when he was hit by a truck (i got her to agree to let me care for him).

Gabe's home and very thin. He went from 26.5 pounds to 23.5 pounds. I can feed him 1/4 of the can of dog food they provided 4 times a day - and he has two prescriptions twice a day. He's only supposed to go out on a leash; however since we have a dog door that's next to impossible and we don't want to cage him up. He did sleep the entire night by my side of the bed and this morning appeared back to 'normal' again. He was disoriented when I picked him up, but I equated that to when my aunt was elderly and had to go to the hospital.

Thanks everyone for your prayers, thoughts and kind words. He's home, but there's still more work to do and care to give.

Yeah for Gabe! Do you have a gate or something (maybe a folding chair would work) to keep him out of the room with the the dog door? Or can you tether him to something in the house? That's worked well for me. There have been times I had leashes looped around furniture legs in several different rooms.
