I liked WEB Griffins "The Corps" series (well most of them. I got reallllllly tired of Fleming Pickering.) I wish he'd go back and finish that series off.

I have read every book in every series he has written. He is probably one of the best witers around due to his style and the charcters involved. All of his stories are very plausable.

If he is taking his laptop he can download the "Kindle for PC" free at the Amazon site and have access to all of the ebooks that way. You could put some money on an Amazon account instead of packing and mailing books.

I used to think that until I read one of his books (don't recall the title) that took place in Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. So many of the location details were wrong that I just got more and more irritated. When a critical clue in the mystery turned on the serial number of a Rolex watch (and not where the serial numbers are actually located), I just about threw the book across the room.

I read "The Hunters" series from time to time, but the gear-porn sometimes distracts me from the story.

I asked earlier if anyone has read "Unbroken" and I'm listening to it. BEST book ever! The true story of a WWII POW - Louie Zamporini - who was also an Olympic runner. Fantastically written, gripping tale - I HIGHLY recommend it!

Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart. It does have some wit, but I found it so depressing in the middle that I almost stopped reading. It definitely picked back up after that. It was OK - I kind of feel like it didn't quite get to where it was going.

Jacqueline Turner Banks, Maid in the Shade. Interesting, and I wish the publisher caught the few typos in the last several pages.

Just started "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." Very engaging book and fun too. Who knew so much World History has been influenced by vampires. smile

I couldn't get into that one, Buggs. I put it down about halfway through the 2nd or 3rd chapter, and it's been just sitting on my nightstand ever since.

Well, I a huge Lincoln buff, so I guess I'm into it because I want to see how specific events fall out in relation to his obsession with killing vampires. smile

I just finished the last book in the Kent Family Chronicles by John Jakes.

Next up is Bush's Decision Points. My other half, pretty lib, read it over vacation and was thoroughly impressed by it.
