Everybody survive the storms yesterday and last night? We made it through fine all night. Alarm went off at 5:00 am as usual. Power went off a little before 5:30. By 6:30 it was still off so I had to shower and dress by the light of a battery powered lantern. Had to bring makeup and hair dryer to work to finish getting dressed. Power is still off at home with my 85 year old mother there with her LifeAlert bracelet that isn't worth 2 cents right now. Called the power department and they promised they will send a crew out there as soon as they are finished at the hospital.

I had power...one short flicker was all. Trees down all over the place, and quite a few power lines, too. I could use a nap...the first weather red alert came in on my phone at 3 am...it was non-stop after that!

Piedmont area of North Carolina took a beating about 1 am. Hail the size of golf balls and I could have sworn the wind blew my porch swing out of the yard instead of just blowing it over. Lots of trees down and scattered power outages.

Lots of thunder, lightning, and sideways rain at my house between about 4 and 6 am. I lost half of a plum tree, the phones lines got hit, and the power flickered several times. We were lucky. Just up the road from me had several big trees down.

Beautiful outside with a little brisk wind. Don't care much for the wind, but I love the brisk part!
