Everybody survive the storms yesterday and last night? We made it through fine all night. Alarm went off at 5:00 am as usual. Power went off a little before 5:30. By 6:30 it was still off so I had to shower and dress by the light of a battery powered lantern. Had to bring makeup and hair dryer to work to finish getting dressed. shocked

Power is still off at home with my 85 year old mother there with her LifeAlert bracelet that isn't worth 2 cents right now. Called the power department and they promised they will send a crew out there as soon as they are finished at the hospital. cry

It was awful here in S MS last night. Our power flickered a few times but it stayed on at our house. Several coworkers said they lost power. There were a couple of tornados spotted in the area.

I had power...one short flicker was all. Trees down all over the place, and quite a few power lines, too.

I could use a nap...the first weather red alert came in on my phone at 3 am...it was non-stop after that! sleep

Piedmont area of North Carolina took a beating about 1 am. Hail the size of golf balls and I could have sworn the wind blew my porch swing out of the yard instead of just blowing it over. Lots of trees down and scattered power outages.

We had three pretty bad storms blow through last night. 10:00, 2:00, and 5:00. Didn't make for a good night of sleep. On top of all the noise, it was really hot in the house, and the Dog ended up scared (not common), so she slept glued to me. Power went out with the first round. Lots of trees down, and I know of two huge billboards being blown over.

out of the frying pan...
Lots of thunder, lightning, and sideways rain at my house between about 4 and 6 am. I lost half of a plum tree, the phones lines got hit, and the power flickered several times. We were lucky. Just up the road from me had several big trees down.

Talked to my Dad a little while ago, and it took them quite some time to get power back. He had to cut 5 trees off of their road, not including the tree that fell on the power line. He said the electric company had to run new power lines.

Weather is great (for the moment) in Oklahoma, but our annual weather special, The Fifth Season, airs tonight. Sounds like east and southeast are getting our fifth season right now.

As the producer of fecal-based jelly beans says, stay safe!!

Beautiful outside with a little brisk wind. Don't care much for the wind, but I love the brisk part!
