Business loan to cash out on 25 townhomes. HMDA reportable??

What is the purpose of the cash out?

Did not say and customer was unwilling to provide certain information we asked and withdrew the application. The company is in the business of purchasing real estate investments. Reading an initial write up, the investors wanted to cash out on their investments.

That's a tough one. If you don't know the purpose of the loan, I can't say you should report it. Don't assume anything. I would document the file indicating what you said in your last post and leave it off the HMDA LAR.
