The lenders at our bank also have been upgraded from "Pending" to "Active" status following the completion of their background checks. I think you are correct in your understanding of the process, but just to be safe I have begun to re-read the SAFE Act. Wouldn't want to neglect something and then discover it after July 31st.

As the System Administrator, you and your MLO will receive this email once the Criminal Background Check is completed and comes back as "Clear". The NMLS will automatically move the MLO to an "active" status. You don't need to do anything further. The only time you need to do anything is if you have an MLO whose CBC comes back with a RAP sheet.
