I am looking for recommendation and/guidance on retention of deposit documents which are run through branch capture. Once the items have been imaged, how long is the institution required to keep the physical items?

We maintain ours for 45 days. We only average about 500 items actually scanned in the branch so it isn't taking up space.

Thank you! Currently, we maintain ours for 6 months. Are you aware of any regulations that indicate you can not keep them for such amount of time.
