Operation Dark Heart by Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer.
The redacted version frown. I'll have to get the full version.
The editing did have its moments of hilarity, though. Covering one letter in a three-letter personal pronoun does not exactly hide its original form.

out of the frying pan...
Finished reading A Feast For Crows this weekend. Now I have to wait a week for A Dance With Dragons to come out.

In the meantime I suppose I'll catch up on cheapreads and the new Kitty the Werewolf. smile

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Well, I went to Books a million in Valdosta this weekend and bought the 4 book set of Game of Thrones. Am totally into it. So, the author is going to be like Stephen King's Dark Tower Series and make us wait years between books? Oh well, at least I'll have a lot to read before his 5th book comes out on the 12th and then wait for the 67h and 7th.

Medieval fantasy. Think War of the Roses meets King Arthur. wink

Ooooo! I love medieval books and totally obsessed with King Arthur. I watched the "Camelot" series Showtime or Starz recently aired. It was completely different from any of the Camelot stories of the past.

That's not usually a genre I read. But it seems they are good enough that I will have to branch out. Thanks!

I finished A Clash of Kings (book #2 in the Game of Thrones series) on Saturday. I was going to take a break in between two and three and read something lighter but the next thing I knew I was a couple hundred pages into book three!! smile

Reading in book format - Clash of Kings (re-read)
Reading on iTouch - Dana Stabenow "Fire and Ice" (which I think is actually a re-read too.)
Listening to - Girl who Played with Fire

These don't actually have anything to do with Camelot, but the setting is similar (knights, lords, etc.). The world is total fantasy. The political intrigue & court maneuvering are sort of War of the Roses/Shakespearian tragedy.

When you say "War of the Roses" I think of the Michael Douglass/Kathleen Turner movie!

Well there are similar amounts of tension (and destruction) in parts of the books......

Once Book 5 is out we need to set up a separate thread to discuss, for those of us who are current.....

OK, I went through the un-edited version. Some of the redactions I can understand. Some don't make a lot of sense. My favorite, though, was redacting Ned Beatty's name in a movie reference.

Just finished The Hunger Games trilogy. While I LOVED the first book... I was not satisfied with the way she ended things in Mokingjay. I wasn't expecting a "happy" ending, but it left me feeling flat, nothing at all. Bummer.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Thank you all so very much! I'm staying up way too late at night reading this book.... I don't know if I can get thru all 4 by July 12th when book 5 comes out. Made the mistake of watching some reviews of the HBO series on YouTube and got ahead of where I was in the book - the series seems to follow the book rather closely.

I'm fairly certain I won't be through the first four by next Tuesday. Storm of Swords is over 900 pages. Seems to be taking me about a week per book and that is slow for me. Of course, life does get in the way sometimes. smile

BDB?

I did enjoy this latest Plum book, and did I read right, the next one is out in November? We don't have to wait a whole year this time?
