Maria,
Your spelling is fine, but your grammar is off. I think you meant to say "...if I were Ray..."

LOL, Jac, I mean Ray, I mean I am so busted! Shame on me!

For the record, Omega, I should change mine to the Hawkeye's emblem. I miss my home!! (and the snow, too!) I heard there was 22 inches on the ground in Council Bluffs...is that even remotely true?

I live in Washington, IA and we have around 12. It is so pretty!!

Gotta have snow Pup. My pref is for a place w/ mountains, ocean views, or lakes. I have none of those but this is a good place to raise corn, beans, and kids. I would go nuts here without the winter to change the brown for the better.

Yep, that's me....going nuts!! I mean, really...what good is a front-wheel drive car if there is no snow on the ground? I can get to Council Bluffs in 8 hours....maybe I'll take a long weekend.

Any suggested sites for a new symbol to reflect all that is OMEGA? A word of caution, I have no idea what I am doing on a computer. It has to be easy. (?)

School was called today. My better half took a whole bunch of kids sledding. We took a whole bunch of kids to see "Cheaper by the Dozen" last night. We are not ones to let winter keep us inside.

Honeymooned in the Canadian Rockies. A week in Lake Louise. I understand the Alps are great but I don't understand how anything could be much better.

went to the top of the Zugspitz (the highest point in Germany) and could see Italy and Austria from there. Well, you could see a mass of mountain tops which were officially in Italy and Austria anyway. It was incredible. I'm sure Lake Louise was breathtaking as well. Having lived in Denver and travelled a little in the Rockies, I'm gonna have to say that the Alps are much more beautiful (at least from my experience).

Lived outside Boise for a while. Skied & backpacked the McCall and Sun Valley areas. Lake Louise is better. We hiked the ice fields in Jasper. Split a bottle of wine and a loaf of bread at Moraine Lake. Climbed to the St.Agnes Teahouse and had..tea. Maybe it was just the company.

I did most of my mountain travelling in a car. I skied Breckenridge as a second-grader, but that's about it. (bowing down to Omega, mountain traveller). I'm just looking forward to getting to Iowa for some snow!!!! My dad lives in Hyrum, UT....the mountains are 10 miles away, max. It is gorgeous there, too.

"Skied & backpacked the McCall and Sun Valley areas. Lake Louise is better. " Come on Omega...you don't want to go down Arnie's hill? Okay, so I don't ski, but we do live about 70 miles south of Sun Valley and it is very pretty up there during the winter months.

I agree!! I do ski and Sun Valley is one of the best slopes. You sure don't here anything about he "stars" soaking it up in Ohio! Besides, I'm only an hour or less away from mountains, lakes, slopes. Couldn't be any better!

I visited Boise as a kid once...that's all I got. I'll put it on my list of places to visit, though, for sure!

Idaho is a great place to visit and live. Boise is only a short 120 miles from me. You'll defintely have to visit the Sawtooth Moutains and Wilderness area. It really is breathtaking.

Please don't misunderstand. Idaho is GREAT! I would seriously consider moving there for the right oportunity. Sun Valley is GREAT! There are some GREAT areas in Utah.

I believe that the Lake Louise area of the Canadian Rockies is just a little bit prettier. It is hard to understand unless you have been there. I am sure that can be said of the Alps as well.

Do you know the way to ...
Ok, I have to say we've got it made out here at the southern end of San Francisco Bay.... Lake Tahoe's snow-capped mountains only a 6 hour drive north-east, Santa Cruz's sandy beaches and surfing only an hour's drive south-west....

Oh wait - that will make all of you want to move out here... ummmm...

Ok, we've got hellish housing prices - average single-family home $675,000. Horrible commute traffic - 40 minutes to go 15 miles on the parking lot that masquerades as a freeway. And the Federal government just announced it wants to raise the rent on Hetch-Hetchy resevoir (inside Yosemite National Park's borders) from $30 mill / year to $8 Bill / year - a 26000% increase!!! That will promote water conservation, for sure... You don't want to move here...

Hmmmm - Yosemite.... only a 4 hour drive east... so pretty, my brother's getting married there in April... should have some beautiful frozen waterfalls this time of year...

Omega - I've been to Lake Louise, just at the tail-end of winter. Absolutely gorgeous. That whole area is beautiful. "Legends of the Fall" was filmed around there, for anyone who wants a visual...
