Anyone watching? Can you believe Penny when she was in front of the committee!

Watching but I haven't seen this week's episode yet.... I doubt I'll be surprised at Penny's antics though. She is not exactly a subtle personality.

Are you referring when whe was making the "angry kitten" sounds? I always watch it at odd times so I have a hard time keeping up if I'm watching it in the right order...

Weird group this time. Penny's the best cook but she has the personality of a viper. The rest just don't cook as well consistently. Surprised to see who went yesterday because they belonged in the better cook group, imho. Ah well. They don't ask for a vote till the end. Or did they stop that too?

I left the room for just a minute at the end and missed the decision...it was Mary Beth, Whitni and Orchid I think. Not sure who got cut.

Which is too bad because I really liked her. She had potential. However, she wasn't consistent enough, and the 'you haven't grown' comments made me think of the chick that started off so strong last year - I've forgotten her name - Arianna, maybe?

I agree, I think it should have been Whitney or Mary Beth. Mary Beth is just awkward to me and Whitney is forgettable.

Yeah, the angry cat . . . Grow up. I don't think, no, I know I couldn't work with her.

I could see Vic winning it, he has a different personality/look and his food is pretty consistent.

Vic is too much like Guy Fieri but without Guy's commanding presence so he won't win.

Aarti's show never took off so I'm thinking Penny isn't going anywhere with her ethnic cooking either.

In fact, other than Guy, none of the recent winners' shows have amounted to much.

I wonder if Jyll could pull off some sort of "entertainment dining" show if she won it?

ala Sandra Lee?

The problem is, nobody is coming up with a new angle to sell themselves with. The only one who came up with something that isn't already a show is the Sandwich guy. What with the trend towards healthier eating, sandwiches are not a good candidate.

I think if one of them came in with 'I can get your kid to eat anything!' it would grab a lot of attention. Problem would be translating that into food that would please the judges. Seriously, how many kids do you know that would eat mango chutney? crazy

I would like a show that was "I can get your TEENAGER to eat anything"!! My younger kids will try a lot more foods than my 17 year old.

I understand that Penny's food is probably consistently better than a lot of the others at this point. And I understand that there has to be a "villain" on these types of shows because the drama keeps people interested. But seriously, it is time for her to go. I don't care how good someone's food is, I would not tune in to watch any show if the host is a total witch like her!

I thought Whitney would go last night. I liked Orchid, although I didn't think she could win the whole competition.

I like Vic (although I agree that he is similar enough to Guy that he may not be a real contender) and I like the Sandwich Guy. I probably like Susie (I think that is her name, the girl who makes latino food) the best of the remaining contestants.

I think Susie probably has the best shot at a show, if she can keep calm and keep her quality up. She would have a different POV from most of what is out there (is Aida still doing any shows?) already.

I think Aida is now on Cooking Channel (which I never watch, but it seems like I saw this is Food Network magazine). I don't know if it is new episodes or just repeats, though.
