We are a community bank and it has been mentioned that we set up a Consumer Mtg Dept so that we can channel all of our consumer real estate loans through just a few of our processers instead of all of our loan processers having the ability to do these types of loans. We are just having too many errors and there are so many things they have to remember to do for these types of loans that I feel like we need to channel them. How do you process consumer real estate loans? Do you allow all your loan officers to approve, process and close these loans or do you have them through a select few loan officers and processers? I really need your input please!!
