thanks,

one more question, there is an offer out there for a Kindle for $139 with 3G+wifi and with special offer and screensavers

if you get it without the special offers and screensavers it's $189

what's the deal with that? if you get the special offers and screensavers does that muck things up and are you paying less so that you get potential junk on your ereader that you may not want?

Agreed, CalifGirl. I receive notices from Amazon regarding other books I would like to read based on what I have purchased so far. I purchased several that were just 99 cents each and there are many many more that are free. I also like that on Amazon there are different e-readers (the actually people not the device smile ) that have their own "lists" of books as well as suggestions for reading. Such as "the best for 99cents", etc. I have found several great books this way.

I have the $189 model with 3G and wifi. I think someone here bought the new one with ads and said it really wasn't intrusive at all.

I'd tell you what you could do with those beer caps but it would probably get me banned! wink

OK
I have the wi-fi only with ads for $114. There is a small ad at the bottom when you are looking at your menu. Then your screensaver shows ads. But when you are reading there are no ads at all. I figured I could live with that for the difference in price. Can't even tell you what the ads are as I never pay attention to them.

Queen speaks the truth. Right now the ad is for the movie "The Help". Tomorrow it might be a car ad or an anti-aging creme ad. Never anything wild or even remotely controversial. I don't think you can even navigate within the ad, it is just a quiet picture.
