Is it a state or federal law that bank employees must take two weeks in a row? IMO, I feel it is bank option but I was told that it is one of the first questions asked by our auditing firm if key employees take two weeks of PTO. Thanks!

It is not a law, but the FDIC and other regulators look for such a policy as part of the Bank's internal control processes.

Depending on the size of your bank, your bonding company might have a say in this. To my knowledge it is rare for a bank to require employees be gone two weeks. Most banks have adjusted their policy to say 5 consecutive days.

I read the FDIC FIL from 1995. Sixteen years later, IMO, it doesn't apply. Too much has happened in the banking world that it surprises me that this train of thought hasn't changed. Thanks for your input!
