The Post reported that the first warnings of the quake may have come from the National Zoo, where officials said red-ruffed lemurs began "alarm calling" a full 15 minutes before the quake hit and. In the great ape house, Iris the orangutan bellowed 10 seconds before the keepers felt it.



I heard a woman from NJ say that her cat started going crazy a full 15 seconds before she felt it.

Can you imagine standing there in the zoo, surrounded by all kinds of wild animals, and they're all screaming and calling at the same time???

VIRGINIA QUAKE~~BREAKING NEWS!!!

The USGS has determined that the epicenter of the earthquake was in a graveyard just outside of DC. The cause appears to be all of our Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves.

I can't remember the quote exactly but...

"Apparently the Washignton monument has tilted due to the earthquake. Some group is saying it's to the left whiel another group is saying it tilted to the right. Geez, why's it always have to become political?"

The Weather Channel says yesterdays east coast earthquake was caused by an unknown fault line running under D.C. and through Virginia. It is now being called Obama's Fault, though Obama will say it's really Bush's Fault. Another theory is that it was the founding fathers rolling over in their graves, but I believe what we all thought was an earthquake was actually the effects of a 14.6 trillion dollar check bouncing in Washington

The earth once again shook in the Mid-Ohio Valley early Wednesday morning.

It was NOT an aftershock to last week's 5.8 magnitude quake centered in Mineral, Virginia, which was felt in 22 states.

Instead, it was a DIFFERENT earthquake with a 3.0 magnitude, whose epicenter was in Washington County.

The quake was felt in Marietta, Reno, New Matamoras and in Waverly, WV. It occurred at approxcimately 5:30 am.

The Ohio Seismic Network in Alum Creek, north of Columbus, recorded the event and is still attempting to pinpoint the exact location.

Wednesday morning's earthquake is in the same general area that another quake occurred back in October 2010.

No injuries or damage has been reported.
