I am new at this bank and we are getting ready to have an annual independent review of BSA.

The bank has only two exempt customers. They have been exempt for several years. I am looking for the Desgination of Exempt Customer form for one of the customers. Cannot locate it.

What should I do. Should I send in an amended form before the outside auditors come in or do not do anything. They have requested a copy of the form.

Yikes...long shot in the dark but maybe Fincen could provide you a copy of it???

You can obtain a copy of the form, but not from FinCEN. Until the "IT Modernization" program is complete, the IRS is the admininistrator of the data base and the source of copies.

You can call them on the Hotline at 800.800.2877.

The fact that the IRS calls it the "Hotline" demonstrates that you can name something anything you want; e.g. my Saturn is a Ferrari. It's my experience that they do not return calls promptly and oftentimes they do not return them at all.
