Does anyone participate with SHCPF? We are a small community bank, not yet CRA repoartable, but working towards it. Just seeing if others work with this foundation and for any feedback regarding them.

Thank you.

Yes, we did. For CRA credit, I would urge you to get written advice from your regulator on how to structure it before you commit to the investment. Otherwise, the Foundation was excellent to work with and it was good PR for the bank. I am impressed by the program's success.

I've looked at this but it seems like they want a fairly substantial investment. Do you know if they are flexible with that?

Yes, I believe they are flexible. When worked with them, they were not high pressure and were very helpful. You can just give them a call.

What are the odds? I just got off the phone with an individual from this organization. No pressure and he was very professional.

He was 100% certain we would get $100 in CRA credit for every $1 we invested. Glad I saw this and the above linked thread. I'll have to think twice now.

How do you ensure/evidence that the funds are used in you bank's assessment area?

Is anyone going to the conference call that SHCPF is holding in New York in October?

I'm planning on attending. I want to learn a little more about this organization prior to getting on board.

Been with them for several years. Great folks. You pick the nursing home you sponsor to ensure that its in your assessmnt area.

Yes, they were 100% certain with us too. But it didn't happen. You really need a letter from your regulator that is very specific concerning how you are going to structure the transaction. The letters that are on file are just vague enough to get you in trouble. As I said, this is a great cause and great people and you would think that the regulators are practically endorsing it. All I know is that we only received credit for a fraction of our investment.

You pick nursing homes that are in your assessment area. You may already have nursing homes as customers that yo want to offer this to.
