Is there a reason why our consumer lenders cannot offer to finance the initial escrow amount?

It would have to be a State law issue.

This is OK in Ohio. The closing costs can be financed. The initial deposit is considered part of the closing cost. We allow the borrower to finance their closing cost if the numbers work (LTV, debt ratios, etc).
