If the bank is going to remove an ATM from a location do we have to inform customers? The store has decided it wants to put in their own ATM so they can collect the fees. I am thinking it is going to make customers mad, it is the only ATM in town and most of the people using it are the banks customers. Can anybody tell me if there is guidance on this anywhere?

Thanks

If it's a significant enough event (and your description suggests it will be), it probably rises to the level of a reduction in service for the affected customers. If there's not an alternative location in town that you can transfer the machine to, I suggest notifying customers with addresses in that town. Another alternative is to work a deal with the store not to charge your bank's customers (and bill the bank instead), or for the bank to reimburse its customers for fees incurred when using the store's proprietary machine.
