So sorry to be asking this, but this is our first in years. As I recall, reducing the rate to 6% only applied to loans that were made before being activated. Is this still the case?

If the customer is on active duty, can the rate be whatever we agree upon?

I am just afraid that something may have changed on this during the years that we had none.

This is correct. Any new debts incurred while on active duty are not subject to the 6% rate.

Remember the "rate" also includes most fees, like late charges.

After they're in the service you need to watch out for JWNDAA loans, but that is a separate issue.
