I'm not thinking clearly today and need some help. Bob cashes a check from his DBA account for the business. Then Sue cashes a check from Bob's DBA account for the business. Together, these transactions are reportable. Which way do I complete the CTR?

Section A - Bob DBA Business Name
Section B - check "Conducted on Own Behalf"
Section B (page 2) - Sue

or...

Section A - Bob DBA Business Name
Section B - check "Conducted on Own Behalf" AND enter Sue's info on page 1

First, make sure that you need a CTR.

Who benefited from the check that Sue cashed. Sue or the Business? If Sue benefited there is no CTR, if the Business benefited file a CTR.

For eample if Sue was cashing an expense reimbursement check, payable to herself there would be no aggregation for CTR purposes.

If the bussiness benefited from both checks I would on:
Section A - Bob DBA Business Name
Section B - check "Conducted on Own Behalf" AND enter Sue's info on page 1

The business benefitted from the check that Sue cashed for Bob. Thanks!

I would add Sue's info to the 2nd section B. Conducted on own behalf was checked in the first section B- that took care of Bob so you just need Sue's info. Others may disagree but that's the way i would complete the CTR.

There is no need to leave Section B on page 1 blank. You are trying to be more descriptive than the form actually supports.
