I'm assuming most of our offices put a tree up, in the office, branch, or lobby. Just curious, how is your tree decorated? Do you like it?

Ours Is a twenty foot Classically decorated tree. It adds a lot to the lobby and customers seem to like it.

Up until the last two years, we always had really nice trees. They were themed, but still somewhat classic. My favorite was the elf tree. It was a real tree decorated with classic ornaments, but then there were elves hiding in it and also a big ladder set up next to it with elves on it, as if they are decorating it. Very cute, and it was a bgi tree too (we have a big lobby for a 24-floor building). Another year it was themed in silver and light blue with little penguins and shiny ornaments. We got soem crazy building managers in the last couple years and they are off their rockers with the lobby tree these days. Last year, our "tree" was a wire-framed cone strung with teddy bears. All the same teddy bear--light brown with a red bow on its neck. It was awful...awfully creepy! I think only the crazy teddy bear people liked it. Thsi year tops last year for sure. Again, no real tree. OH no....it's a giant fake PINK tree!!! Liek light bubble gum candy pink! And it has fake snow on it and glitter and giant cupcakes and fruity nutcrackers and diva'd gingerbread men on it. It just screams "a bakery just threw up in a 5 year old little girls bedroom!" It's bad (and for those of you on FB, I posted a pic of it on my page). Adn to be frank, I don't think it's professional. In a bakery of a little kids boutique, sure, btu nto in a professional office building full of bankers and lawyers. Luckily, I can see into the other building's lobby across the street and drool over their classic Christmas tree done up in gold and deep red...

Classic tree with white lights, red and gold balls (plastic so they don't break when the children get their hands on them), gold jingle bells, red plaid bows and red bows trimmed with gold, and stringed gold beads (they look like the Mardi-gras beads). The topper is a huge bow made out of the same materials as the other bows, with a few streamers winding down the tree.
I decorate it myself, no one else in the bank wants to do it. I really believe they would not put up a tree at all.
Dip- The Elf tree sounds really cute!!!

UUGGGGHHHHH. That's not even a Christmas Tree. That's a Pepto-Pink mess. I am speechless. Wow. The decorations MIGHT (that's a big might) not be too bad on a regular green tree, but on that pepto-pink thing, that's just too much.
I would volunteer to do the tree every year just to keep someting like that from showing up again!

When I was managing branches, I dumped the trees... with limted staff and no one willing to do it after hours on their time, nor anyone willing to volunteer to take it all down, I just had the branch flooded in poinsettias.
Quick and easy to place and style, even quicker to clean up.

You solve that problem with a couple of six packs (or boxes of wine depending on the level of sophistication) and a couple of pizzas - all the sudden everyone is freaking Martha Stewartâ„¢. My branch had the "I've been decorated by drunken elves" theme going on....

Jay- No one will water the Poinsettias. We are going to stop getting them. I have always been told they were poisonous. IDK if that's true or not, but I have always been leery of them.
Dip- I didn't see the cracker... Wow. Our bank is very "old-timey" the classic look blends in well. We have alot of wood work and picture frame molding, along with the black teller bars, and the old metal ornate ceilings with "school house" lights. We have greenery and bows and gold beads intertwined between the bars. We also put alittle greenery with bows above the doors leading to the loan department. We have a customer who makes goodies every year and puts them in the cutest tins and boxes. We display the best of the boxes and/or tins as well.

They're poisonous if you eat them, I believe. If you have an issue with people eating your shrubbery, you may have bigger problems to address!

I love poinsettias! Home Depot has them every Black Friday for 99-cents. I missed getting them this year Since this is a big managed building, they hire professional tree people to do ours...they come in with their owns stuff and set it up, then take it all down and haul it away. I bet they were snickering the whole time puttin gours up... Yeah, I bet they were laughing. I hope it was cheap.

That "tree" is awful ! Has anyone actually said anything nice about it? Who decided on this "theme"?

Dip- I didn't see the cracker... Wow. LOL! I meant NUTcracker. The NUTcracker has a cupcake on his head The bulding managers pick the tree... and they are 2 ding-batty ladies. One seems kinda noirmal on the outside. the other is in her 20s with BAD hair and her FB picture is of herself squeezed into a naughty school girl outfit.

We've got a tree outside the bank and one inside. But then we go overboard with a huge holiday display - think Santa's workshop or a forest full of animals decorating and such. I haven't ventured downstairs to check out this year's themed display yet.
