Question:
A customer comes in to make payments on 2 of her loans and also makes 2 payments on loans that are in her daughter's name only. The check(made payable to the customer only, not her daughter)is an US Treasury check in the amount of $31,000.00 and the woman walks out of the bank with $30,000.00 in cash after the payments are made. The daughter is not present at the time the transaction occured, and all payments are done in one transaction. Do I need to include the daughter's information on the CTR? If it was a payment made with cash, I would definitely include the daughter's info; with cash back I am not sure since the daughter was not present and a check was used to make the payment...

Thanks in advance!

The loan accounts were not involved with this transaction. She cashed a government check. What she did with the other $1000 does not come into play.

Walked out of the Bank with $30,000.00 in cash? Did anyone question her if she wanted a Bank check or why she wanted so much cash?

She was asked if she would like a check, but she wanted the cash. It was a reimbursement for mutilated currency that she had sent in to the Federal Reserve. About 2 years ago this same lady had brought in some mutilated currency to the tellers and it was about $50,000.00; said the money had been buried in the back yard,it smelled of mold and other odors...lol.
