Really not sure anymore
In a recent audit I came across where customer service is sending customers a expedited recredit claim form when they recredit a deposit account for a scanned image running twice.
I understood the recredit form was used for a substitute check claim. We do not issue substitute checks or paid original checks in our periodic statements.
This has confused me, and want to make sure we are in compliance.
Thanks in advance.

It appears your CS department is suggesting the availability of a claim right that the customer isn't entitled to.

Correct!! After I posted the question, I found that the CS department was using the recredit notices for check adjustments.

This is stopping, but has posed a new question. Do we need to notify a customer when we credit or debit their account for check adjustments?
