Does your Bank offer Relationship Rewards? This program creates targeted cash and refund based reward programs and interest incentives based on customer relationship. Products and rewards can be established to support any number of customer and account characterisitecs. Rewards can include interest rate adjustments, cash, service charge refunds, transaction based refunds, ATM surcharge rebates and points that can be exchanged for cash.

What have your experiences been with this type of product?

We have a program that rewards with increases in CD rates (currently this program is suspended due to a lack of need for deposits) or decreases in loan rates. Each is tied to 5 specific criteria, each one generates a .1% change in the rate offered.

Loan rate discounts are generated by:
1: Loan payment set up via one of the automatic methods (ach, internal transfer, payroll deduction, etc)
2: A direct deposit relationship
3: Active checking account with debit card
4: Open/active credit card with us
5: Deposit balances of $2500+ (doesn't count checking balances)

Deposit rate premiums are generated by:
1: A direct deposit relationship
2: Active checking account with debit card
3: Loan balance over $5,000
4: Open/active credit card with us
5: Online banking with e-statements

We've always had good responses from this, gives a sort of incentive to customers that have been here a while and utilize a variety of income-generating products and is useful in cross-selling situations.
