Has anyone heard that it is illegal to make a color photocopy of a customers Drivers license?

I have always been told that in the state of Minnesota it is illegal to make a same size copy of a Minnesota drivers license. We photocopy drivers licences at 125 - 130% of the actual size to avoid the violation. I don't believe I have seen a MN statute that discusses color copies.

We make copies of DL for deposit accounts. I have never heard it is illegal to make color copies or that they have to be the same size. However you cannot put a copy of the DL in a loan file.
