.... Hmmm, yeah, but he sounded horrible doing it. Can you do better after being shocked? How well would you do your job if they walked in and said do it just one more time, you're fired!? No, I can't.....but Milli Vanilli and Heejun could. They sang their farewell song much MUCH better than Colton did his. Colton finding out that he was "fired!" shoudldn't have been any more shocking to him than it would be to anybody else on this show who has been given the boot, and yet this was probably one of the worst vocal adios performances I've seen on the show. Both Milli Vanilla and Heejun KNEW they weren't going to win this. Colton, on the other hand was one of the front-runners. Both of the other guys had been in the bottom more than once, Colton went home his first time in the bottom 3. Colton also KNEW he wasn't going to win this. He was NOT one of the frontrunners, he has always been middle of the pack. Not that the cellar dwellars are gone, somebody has got to go with only 7 left, it shouldn't have been a surprise if it was him or anyone else leave at this point. Him receiving the least votes isn't shocking. It just isn't. And his farewell song confirms that.

Joshua is another Fantasia - if he wins, he will not be successful LOL Fantasia, not successful? Really? Have you heard of The Color Purple? Do you know how much she made doing that show? She hasn't done pop music because she went broadway. Furthermore, while Joshua is like Fantasia in his singing style, he does not have the same background. Where she sang about "Baby Momma" and "Hood Boy", he'll sing about topics far less ghetto oriented, and more mainstream. But she's blown out her vocal chords at least twice. Oprah gave up on her. That isn't my idea of successful.

Fantasia is talentless and that's being generous Well, she certainly hasn't done much of anything in the music industry that has caused some noise.... ...but she's still responsible for one of the best damn performances seen on American Idol in it's entire existence. Her Summertime performance is as strong as a performance as you'll see ANYBODY do in a live setting. Talentless? I think not, but irrelevant in the music business since she's won? Pretty Much. On that note, it was pretty sad to see Taylor Hicks in the audience touting, "Hey great news! I'm gonna be in Vegas!!! Still trying to use up the final seconds of his 15 minutes of fame. FYI, if you think I'm being mean, I actually liked Hicks that season, but he had no bidness being in the top 4 much less the winner. Daughtry got robbed...but in the end, things always have a way of working themselves out.

Pulling people out of the ditc...

i always find it amusing how defensive people get about this...and how they let 3 or 4 judges dictate whom they think should win...seriously, you can go in to many live music clubs in Austin, Dallas, NYC, NO, Boston, Seatle, Atlanta, etc. and find much more talent...who can also play musical instruments.
This isn't about finding talent, this is about people being gullible and texting (for which the show gets revenue) and thinking they really have input in the winners...its about building a brand...and milking the masses to earn money for the brand (Idol finalist tours...)
And what about the poor Asian kid a couple of years ago who sung so off key? Really, he should have been on the show? And there are just as many talentless people on every year...

I always find it amusing how wound up some people get about how defensive they think other people get about something.
It's a message board and a topic about American Idol.
Posters have opinions about the show, the performers and the results. They share them in here. That's what they do.
FYI, many of those "talented" artists in Austin, Dallas, NYC, NO, Boston, Seatle, Atlanta, etc, find themselve trying out for this show as soon as they get over their issues about not looking hip or cool for trying out on this show or any of these other performance shows for that matter. Many don't make the final cut and many do.

Who's going home tonight? My guess is Hollie or Philip.
I thought it was strange to have Queen songs - most of them are too hard to sing, I would think. I didn't even recognize some of the songs. I was surprised that the judges liked Joshua's first song - I thought it was screechy. He killed it on the second song though. I guess she's good, but I just don't like Skylar.

I thought Hollie was very good. I'd say either Phillip or Elise.

I think it will be Elise this week. I think the personal choice song killed her chances unfortunatly. I think she & Joshua will be in the bottom. Phil has latched on quite a following as has Sklyar.

Wow - Joshua knocked it out of the park! Loved him!
Skylar has a good voice, but she over-sings the songs. Especially when she sang You don't Have to Say You Love Me. That song is sad, not angry. Her delivery was just not appropriate for that song.
I missed Hollie's first song, but she did great on the second one.
Who's going home? I think Jessica or Philip.

Do NOT like Joshua. Those songs last night were meant to be sung with a soft mellow voice. His voice is too raspy.
Hoping Joshua, Phillip or Jessica go home.

I was glad to see Hollie finally coming into her own ~ she was great last night. Joshua was very good as well, he just is not my style of singer. I did enjoy Phil very much - I dig his style. I think Skylar was better with the Dusty Springfield song than with the CCR choice - in my opinion she did not connect with the sentiment of that song. She was "country-style" fist pumping while she sang it. Sorry to all in advance - but I am not a Jessica fan. She has a good voice but IMO is too screamy for me. I think Skylar & Jessica may be in danger but it is so hard to call at this stage of the game. I still think Phil has the best shot at a viable career
