The weird part was that he didn't even know who it was at that point, due to partitions, and because of the location, it could have been someone from outside the staff, so it was especially odd/disturbing.

Some people are just uncomfortable with silence....or watersounds, whichever the case may be.

I once had a request to pass a magazine to the person in the next stall here at work. Really? Nothing productive was going to happen after that interaction.

I am in the total silence camp myself. Cordial nods are ok, but that's it.

Oh, and I am searching for one of those "All Employees Must Wash Their Hands Before Returning To Work" signs. The other day, guy walks out of stall, right past the sinks, and out the door. 15 minutes later he is in the lunch room....

Ragdoll or Maine Coon by chance? I could see you with one of those! I'd get a genet if I could, but having a tough time convincing the lil lady that it wouldn't maul her in her sleep. That being said, I've woken up to a dog chewing on my ear, but that doesn't mean I'd be against having one!

Of course its no reason not to have one!! I 've had girls chew on my ear too....I dont mind it at all.

Ok - so do men talk on their cell phone in the restroom? Because women do all the time. I think that's just bizarre and gross. Like the person on the other end can't tell where you are?!

Talking at the sinks is fine. Chatting stall to stall is just weird. Standing in the door (door open) talking to someone in the hall? No. Shut the door and move the conversation.

Spent the night at the hospital. Mom is out of ICU and is doing better. Swelling is down. Numbers are good. She also got confused and pulled out all of her IV's. I think she was ready to go home.
Now we just have to get her to eat. She is way undernurished right now and also cannot take her dementia meds without food. Dad is making her crazy (me too, a little). Have to get him to remember she has dementia, she's 2.

Continuing prayers from Illinois for your entire family, Bankbb1. Sending hugs and healing thoughts. It's such a difficult situation to be in, but your mom is so lucky to have you there with her, whether she knows you or not. You are caring for her and she must feel loved and taken care of. Be strong for her and for your dad, and don't let him drive you crazy. Intense stress intensifies all the family member annoyances; be as patient as you can. Laughter helps heal and releases endorphins, so laugh as much as you can with dad.

I lift weights and beat the snot out of racquetball for stress. That way I can just smile at the rest of it.
Thanks Sienna, it all helps. I hope your mom is getting better. Shingles is insideous. I know that is really hard on both of you!!

Safe to guess that no news is good news? Hope so! Make sure she doesn't sneak out for a green beer when nobody's watching tomorrow! (Though if she tries, that's probably a pretty good sign)

Thank you everyone!! The good news is that mom is home!!
She still has memory issues and a bit of an eating disorder (body dismorphic) and is concerned that she is going to get too big (4'10" and 98 pounds right now). So, we may have to bring her an array of foods to get her to choke down 1200 cal a day. Dr. says she can eat as much of anything that she wants!(dont we all wish we had this problem). But she is doing much better.
