A little more than 2.5 years ago, my daughter went through breast cancer with surgery and chemo. Until recently, everything was thought to be fine. Last month, she went to the hospital to have some sort of reconstructive surgery and the surgeon found a new nodule. Yesterday, she was informed the biopsy was positive and she now has to go through chemo again and this time, radiology treatments. Obviously, she is not a happy camper. My hope is this was found early enough that this will be successfully treated easily as can be expected. We will skype this weekend when I hope to learn more (she is in Italy). The distance makes it difficult.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers! We skyped on Saturday and she was in good spirits. She has a meeting with her oncologist in Florence on Wednesday to discuss her treatment routine. I did learn this was a different form of cancer than her original bout. Again, thank you for your kindness!

Glad her spirits are up and that you can Skype with her. Continued prayers from Texas.

Update: She visited her oncologist in Florence yesterday and has to return on Friday for a complete exam to determine compatability with treatment using "Trastuzumab." A quick read revealed this drug has some potential serious side-effects. So far, her choices are treatment once per month with high toxicity doses or once per week with much lower doses. Her dilemma is she has to travel to Florence each time for at least six months. Needless to say, we are both very concerned and she is not a happy camper. Thanks, again, to all for your support!

Which ever decision she makes, prayers going to her to keep her strong and beat this once again.
