Only 2 more saturday shifts to go then my promotion kicks in and I'm off weekends!! YAY!! Very exciting!! I'm jealous, but will raise a glass to that anyway! You have no idea how excited I am!! Promotion also means I get to quit my 2nd job- so no more evenings, no more 14 hour days, no weekends at either job- I am positively giddy! I won't have any more money then I do now, but I'll have a better boss, my own office, and time to actually see my family. Have I mentioned I'm excited? As long as more free time doesn't translate to more shopping time, you should be just fine!

O'hare is not that bad... I'd rather make that connection there than in Atlanta. I think Detroit was possibly the worst airport I have ever been in... Running won't help you in Atlanta or Houston because it seems every connection involves riding the tram! I sprinted the entire length of the Detroit airport with two carry on bags and an untied shoe. I got to my gate just as they were closing the door. I am with the same carrier on both flights and both are regional jets so I am hoping (barring any delays) that I will be fine. My flight out of PA is from Harrisburg which is a pretty small airport so I am hopeful that we will leave on time.

if you're with the same carrier, then you'll be fine. the way ohare is set up, all of a carrier's gates are pretty close together.
Here's a toast to hoping your first flight stays on time!! :raises glass of Verde:

It's always fun to be the last person to board a small regional jet after sprinting to your gate. Everyone is all settled in their seats and comfortable and on comes some sweaty out of breath guy, jamming his carry on in the bin over their head, squeezing past them to his seat. Ahhhh, I love air travel

I've always had good luck in O'Hare. Cancelled/delayed flights happen more for me in Detroit or Minneapolis. I can rarely fly anywhere direct, so all of my flights are routed through one of the three pretty much.
Though I do believe I can get a direct flight to OKC...

lol- i had mostly good luck with ohare- it was Delta AT ohare that screwed me all up.
I was flying from ohare to JFK, the from JFK to Tel Aviv. My flight from ohare was cancelled 2 hours AFTER it was supossed to leave, because the cleaning crew left the lights on over night and the battery was dead on the plane- the closest battery was in Ohio. It took tears to finally get me on a flight to new york BEFORE my flight to tel aviv left.

Congrats, Loralie!! I'll have a Shock top with Mani and anyone else. Please fruit the beer. TJ, Happy and anyone else into biking, Mrs (to be) Pup got a new bike. It's a mint 2005 Cervelo P3 TT. 54 cm, red and white with Ultegra. Got it for a cool $1k. Same place has a yellow one, a 53 cm for $1,200 with NICE bars and Dura Ace.....any takers?

I only have two cars of the six I've owned that cost me more than her bike. This makes me very sad.
But, my boss's bike cost nearly as much as my current and most expensive car, so put in perspective...no, it's still a carp-ton of money!

so i'm guessing that since the theme of the bar is "Stupid" that those posting about flight issues fall into that category, since they can't keep on topic? Hey, just sayin... Pup, TT bikes are too uncomfortable for daily riding, and a 53 is for someone about 5'6"

this topic came up today while standing in line at the fax machine. a coworker of mine once received a fax that was supposed to have never been sent in the first place. she immediately received a frantic call (from the sender) asking that she fax it back and that it was not for her eyes. lol

<---- only slightly taller than 5'6" and a 53 would fit me fine. Already have a road bike outfitted with all Ultegra/Dura Ace so I'm good. Wait, this is the internet - I am 6'3".... forget all that other stuff

Wish a member of the BOL Cycling Club (unofficial and unformed as of yet) could take advantage. The bike is gorgeous!

I gave up the road bike due to many accidents with cars(no one was not a Mazda) you can replace forks and rims but once the frame is bent. I can not wait to get back out on the Mountain bike.
